Challenges and Opportunity:
– Framework construction and development of Python & Ruby based cloud infrastructure management tools You will be joining a high powered elite team of software engineers to develop the framework and the tools to create, deploy, administer and manage a large number of heterogeneous systems in a commercial OpenStack Cloud infrastructure environment. You will be participating in developing creative solutions for difficult cloud computing and cloud infrastructure problems in the areas of networking, storage, security and VM placement.
Position Skill, Education and Experience Requirements:
• BS Computer Science, Math, Physics, IT Management or related field
OR 2 year’s additional software engineering work experience.
• 2 – 5 years Python software engineering experience
OR solid development experience in C++, Java, Perl and development of Cloud Infrastructure tools.
• Solid understanding of API design and Object Oriented principles
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done
• Must be comfortable working in a fast paced dynamic environment.
• Hunger to learn new things and willing to contribute to the OpenStack project.
• Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be a team player, Prima Donnas’ need not apply.
Any of the following would be a great asset:
• Understanding of systems automation tools/technologies like puppet, chef, etc.
• Experience with system administration (tuning, diagnostics, etc).
• Understanding of Internet infrastructure (medium/large infrastructure).
• Knowledge of systems architecture for cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing/building distributed systems.
